The U.S. Department of Labor has awarded a $1 million grant for cleanup and recovery jobs in Mississippi related to Hurricane Isaac.
Acting Labor Secretary Seth D. Harris made the annoucement Thursday in a news release.
Harris says the funding will provide additional assistance for affected communities while creating temporary employment for workers.
This latest increment brings the total awarded to $2 million. Additional funding could be made available if the state demonstrates a continued need.
