(JSU Athletics). – Jackson State University head football coach Harold Jackson has named Derrick Burroughs as the programs assistant head coach and defensive coordinator.

Burroughs comes to Jackson State following a four year stint as the head football coach at Lane College. The Mobile, Alabama native has over 18 years of coaching experience and has coached at Alabama State, the New York Sentinels (UFL) and the Berlin Thunder (NFL Europe).

Jackson has also retained Antonio Knight as the secondary/special teams coach and recruitment coordinator. The 2014 season will be his ninth with the Tigers football program.
