SCOTT COUNTY – Scott Central senior forward Victoria Vivians set the Mississippi High School girls basketball career scoring record Friday night at home against Union.
Vivians, a Mississippi State signee, entered Friday’s game 23 points shy of setting the record. She scored her team’s first 7 points and didn’t slow down from there.
With 5:35 remaining in the second quarter, Vivians hit a three-pointer to set the record. With MSU women’s basketball coach Vic Schaefer in attendance, play was stopped for a few moments to recognize her achievement. She finished with 41 points in total. Right now her career mark is 5,034.
