Have you been called out yet to have cold, icy water poured over your head?
The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has been making waves all over social media, and for weeks, WJTV’s been expressing their support.
On Sunday, many of our current and past News Channel 12 crew got drench for one of our very own.
ALS hit our hearts personally after one of our best photographers and best friend, Jerry Brooks, was diagnosed with the disease in 2011.
Sunday, members of his fraternity Omega Psi Phi hosted a huge ice bucket challenge at the Churchill Cigar shop. Jerry wasn’t present but his family came to show support.
If you haven’t been “iced” but you want to show support, you can donate online.
Plus, the ALS Walk will be held the last Saturday in September, the 27th, at Trustmark Park.
Check in is at 9 a.m. and the walk starts at 10 a.m.
It’s a one mile walk.
