JACKSON, MS – A group of Mississippi students are headed to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to represent JPS at the National NAACP Convention.

The students, Jordan Jefferson of Callaway; Tylen Miller of Jim Hill; and Murrah students Taylor White and Alton Chambers, won gold medals at the recent NAACP Jackson City Branch ACT-SO competition.

Gold-medalists are awarded an all-expenses paid trip to the national competition. They could win cash, scholarships, and other prizes during the events which are part of the NAACP’s National Convention held July 9–12.
