Metro residents recognize National Day of Prayer (Image 1)

People from around the country Thursday celebrated National Day of Prayer. Several ceremonies were held today in the Metro as well.

At the State Capitol Building, attendees were able to listen to prayers from the youth. The kids did a prayer walk and then the praying started around noon.

Governor and first Lad Bryant, Jackson Mayor Tony Yarber and church leaders were there.

The city of Ridgeland also recognized the day at city hall.

Over in Pearl, a gathering was held at Miskelly’s Furniture Store.
