HATTIESBURG, MS – Volunteer divers have resumed the search for the murder weapon in the killings of 2 Hattiesburg police officers.
According to MBI Officials, four divers from Jefferson Parish Louisiana Sheriff’s Office searched for the gun used to kill HPD officers Deen and Tate in the Leaf River. They began searching around 10 AM and have ended for the day.
The search began yesterday, according to the Forrest County Sheriff’s Dept., after multiple law enforcement agencies including FBI and Forrest Co. SO searched train tracks near Buschman Street and East 4th street, where the shooting happened.
Both Officer Tate and Officer Deen were shot and killed in the line of duty while conducting a traffic stop. Four suspects are in custody and MBI is searching for two more suspects in connection to the crime.
