COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. – One person is dead after a fiery crash that happened Tuesday morning near the Copiah-Jefferson County line.
The single-vehicle crash occurred around 5 a.m.
Officials with Mississippi Highway Patrol said the driver of a Ford F-150 was going eastbound on Highway 28 when the truck ran off the road and struck a tree.
The truck burst into flames and killed the driver.
The body was taken to the state crime lab for DNA results to identify the body.
The accident is under investigation.
