JACKSON, MS – Firefighters discovered several items that can possibly be used to manufacture meth after putting out a house fire.
According to Chief Cleotha Sanders of the Jackson Fire Department, firefighters responded to a house fire call in the 1700 block of Hampton Street on Friday May 22, 2015. Once inside, they extinguished the fire contained it to the room of origin. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Fire investigators arrived shortly thereafter and found that the fire was caused by a cigarette that was not properly disposed of. While searching the area they also “discovered items possibly used to manufacture meth,” according to an official release. The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics is now investigating due to the discovery of these items.
