Jacob Kittilstad is the anchor for WJTV News Channel 12’s Weekend Morning show. He joined our staff in October of 2012.

Mr. Kittilstad was born in Milwaukee, WI and graduated from Homestead High School in 2006. He was recruited to swim competively for the University of Minnesota’s Golden Gophers and was a part of the 2007 Big Ten Championship.

While pursuing a major in Journalism, Mr. Kittilstad worked as an intern at KSTP 5 Eyewitness News in St. Paul Minnesota. He graduated from the U of M in 2010 with a minor in French and was immediately hired as a reporter for KQDS FOX 21.

Raising the ranks, he eventually took over the weekend anchor desk. Viewers new him best for helping produce more content for the station as it expanded its number of shows — and also for spearheading a 12-part series on people with collections in the Northland.

WJTV News Channel 12 hired Mr. Kittilstad to start its brand new Weekend Morning show airing from 6-7 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday. He also works nightside on Mon-Wed.

He is behind our station’s series “Faith in Focus” – profiling a local church every Sunday morning and sharing their mission, outreach, and communities. He is always looking for more churches interested in sharing their stories.

He currently lives in Ridgeland with his cat Hinckley. He enjoys southern cooking and eating southern cooking. He dislikes how much he has to work out to stay in shape after eating southern cooking.
