JACKSON, Miss. – A state employee dies after being beaten and robbed at a local restaurant.
Police say Eric Hambrick was attacked outside of the Waffle House on High Street Thursday night. Hambrick worked for Mississippi Emergency Management and passed away in the hospital over the weekend.
Police say more than one person was involved in the beating, and at least one of them is a male.
They haven’t identified anyone as a suspect yet.
Brett Carr with MEMA said Hambrick was an employee, but he was more like family.
Police say right now, the case is a robbery and assault case. It has not been ruled a homicide.
