Helicopters, crews on foot, and bloodhounds all turn up nothing on Tuesday evening during the search for a missing 29-year-old woman in Flowood.

Jackson Police recovered a vehicle belonging to the subject of that search on East River Road near the Pearl River Levee. The Lincoln MKS is now being looked over at the state crime lab.

On the marshy Rankin County side of the levee, authorities looked for any sign of this Jessica Danielle Hewitt. A family member reported her missing on Monday evening after she failed to pick up a child from a daycare.

“The Lincoln vehicle behind me actually belonged to that person. The vehicle was found abandoned at this location. We have not located her,” Jackson Police Chief Lee Vance said.

Police also questioned Jessica Hewitt’s husband, Hobbie Hewitt, about her being missing. Relatives say the two were recently separated.

Authorities say he is currently not a suspect but he did arrive at the scene before investigators.

“He got some knowledge, I believe, that the vehicle was down here. All we know was he was down here. We’re not prepared to draw any conclusions past that. That’s why we’re talking to him right now,” Chief Vance said.
