JACKSON, Miss. – Bus drivers from across the state met in Jackson for the Annual Mississippi State Bus Driving competition. Or, as the event is better known as, School Bus Drivers’ ROAD-EO.
On Wednesday, drivers competed for monetary prizes and trophies through a showcase of safety maneuvers while operating school buses. In addition, all participants were given a written test related to safe student transportation. The test, for drivers, was mandatory to pass.
This year’s competition went from 8 – 11 a.m. and was held in the parking lot of the Missisippi Trademart Coliseum. Wednesday’s activities are part of a three-day (June 17-19) conference, held by the Mississippi Association of Public Transportation, designed to reward bus drivers for excellent driving records.
