JACKSON, Miss. – A 37-year-old Meridian man is headed to prison after being indicted on drug charges.
Officials with the Department of Justice said Cliff Williams was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Daniel P. Jordan III to 133 months in federal prison followed by three years of supervised release.
Williams was indicted in the DEA’s “Operation Yeti ICE” for his role in a conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute actual methamphetamine.
The operation was apart of the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force investigation.
The OCDETF program is a joint federal, state and local cooperative approach to combat drug trafficking and is the nation’s primary tool for disrupting and dismantling major drug trafficking organizations, targeting national and regional level drug trafficking organizations, and coordinating the necessary law enforcement entities and resources to disrupt or dismantle the targeted criminal organization and seize their assets.
