Jackson, Ms – There has been a drug bust in Hinds County.
According to Hinds County Sheriff’s Dept. spokesperson, Othor Cain, a search was executed by police at 119 Stratford Drive in Jackson. An official release says officers seized “one-pound of marijuana, 16-live marijuana plants, a quarter of an ounce of crystal methamphetamine and manufacturing equipment (used to manufacture meth).”
Christopher Hammons, 40, of Jackson, MS and Ashley Buford, 34, of Terry, MS were arrested on charges of felony possession of drugs (methamphetamine) and felony possession of manufacturing equipment and possession of drugs with the intent to distribute.
“I’m grateful for the partnerships that we have with agencies across the metro and across the state. It is because of these partnerships…these relationships that we have been so successful in reducing and curbing crime in Hinds County. I’m proud of the work of our deputies and officers from MBN and JPD. This is what we do everyday, ” said Sheriff Tyrone Lewis.
