MADISON, MS – The Madison County Sheriff’s Department wants the public to be aware of a scam going around.

Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker says he’s been getting calls all day about a scam where people say they’re being called by Actual Deputies.

According to Sheriff Tucker, someone is representing themselves as a Madison county deputy by using the names of actual deputies and asking for money for fines or warrant fees.

Sheriff Tucker says, the courts are the only place to pay fines. He also says don’t pay money to an individual.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department is investigating this case.
