MHP seeking public’s help in finding missing State Highway Patrol canine

JACKSON, MS – A Mississippi Highway Patrol Canine is missing and MHP would like the public’s help in finding him.

According to MHP Trooper Eric Henry, “Smoke”, a 9-year-old black lab who is also an explosive detection K-9, went missing around 9:45am on July 5, 2015.

An official release says Smoke “apparently disappeared while his handler was conducting routine morning exercises with him.” He was last seen wearing an orange collar. The release also says “he lives in Lee County on County Road 530, in the Old Union Community with his handler.”
