No charges filed against 1 man taken in for questioning in Vicksburg homicide

VICKSBURG, Miss. – The second person taken in for questioning in connection with a Vicksburg homicide has been let go.

Police tell us Akeem McCloud will not be charged with the murder of 69-year-old Sharen Wilson. He has been released from custody.

Wilson’s body was found body was found near the old Kuhn Memorial Hospital on Martin Luther King Blvd. last month.

Officials did charge Akeem’s uncle, Rafael McCloud, with capital murder. He’s also charged with sexual battery, rape, arson, home invasion, weapon possession by a felony, grand larceny auto theft, and burglary.

His bond was denied last week.

The Warren County Coroner said Wilson died of a gunshot wound to the head.

The two men were pulled over in Leland for reckless driving in a 2012 Nissan Murano, which was the victim’s car.
