Tyler couldn’t be more excited to cover the Mississippi sports scene. He joined WJTV in June 2015 as a weekend sports anchor/reporter.
He’s from Chesterfield, Virginia, which is right outside of Richmond.
He spent two years working for KOMU-TV, the NBC affiliate in Columbia, Missouri as a sports anchor/reporter. Tyler worked at the station while attending the University of Missouri School of Journalism, where he graduated from in May 2015.
During his time in Missouri, Tyler garnered awards from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation and Kansas City Press Club for some of his feature stories. He’s covered the 2014 World Series, 2014 SEC Championship game, as well as a multitude of Missouri Tiger sporting events.
When he’s not reporting on sports, he’s probably watching or reading about them. If not that, he likes to play pickup basketball and watch movies/TV series.
