CLINTON, Miss. (WJTV) – Clinton residents will soon be able to buy light wine and beer in the city limits on Sundays.
Starting at 11 a.m. on this Sunday, restaurants, convenience stores and grocery stores can begin selling it.
The Board of Aldermen voted last month to amend the city’s light beer and wine ordinance to allow the sale of beer and light wine between the hours of 11 a.m. and midnight on Sunday.
The amended ordinance allows restaurants to sell beer and light wine by the glass. Additionally, the amended ordinance allows for the sale of beer and light wine in grocery and convenience stores.
Mayor Fisher and the Board have petitioned the Alcohol Beverage Commission of the Department of Revenue for the right to sell distilled spirits and wine on Sunday.
