HINDS COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – The Hinds County Board of Supervisors issued a burn ban for the county.
The ban is due to the lack of rain and an increase of grass fires in the area. The ban will be in effect form July 24 until August 19.
This prohibits all recreational fire and controlled burns, with the exception of commercial contractors with heavy construction equipment; contractors must meet the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality’s requirements.
