JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Miss Wheelchair Mississippi sat down and talked with WJTV on Thursday.
Lauren Compere won the title earlier this year and spoke with us about the Mississippi Wheelchair Foundation.
“I keep saying disability community, it’s not just that,” she said. “It’s for those affected by disability and those unaffected by disability. And really what my platform seeks to do is to build bridges between those two groups of people and for those affected by disability for them to feel more connected to their community.”
Lauren is leaving in two days to head to the National Competition, Miss Wheelchair America, which is taking place in Des Moines, Iowa.
