GREENWOOD, Miss. (AP) – A Greenwood man is being held on a $1 million bond after his arrest on charges related to a fatal shooting on July 26.
Assistant Police Chief Marvin Hammond Sr. tells The Greenwood Commonwealth (http://bit.ly/1Haq6SC ) that 18-year-old Dantrell Berry is charged with capital murder, possession of marijuana and carrying a concealed weapon.
Hammond says 31-year-old Marquette Trevell Woods was found shot to death near a Greenwood intersection.
He says Berry, who had been held for investigation since shortly after the shooting, was formally charged Wednesday.
Hammond says investigators believe the shooting occurred during a robbery.
It is not known if Berry has an attorney.
