LEAKE COUNTY (WJTV) – 16-year-old Grant Roberson’s condition improved throughout the day Wednesday, September 17. His aunt says he can now turn head, lift arms, shake his head to answer questions.
The Leake Academy football player is still in the hospital tafter getting sick during practice earlier this month.
Grant Roberson’s family says that he told his coach he wasn’t feeling well after practice. The 16-year-old was taken to a local hospital and then flown to u-m-c where he still remains in ICU.
His aunt says doctors found out he had the flu which made his condition worse. The head of the school and football coach Brian Pickens says he knows Friday’s home game will be tough without grant.
“This is what I love about this place is when something happens we all come together as a family and very spiritual community,” he says.
