JACKSON, Miss. – Fresh off a trip to the Miss America pageant, first runner up Hannah Roberts, better known as Miss Mississippi, is back home.
“Really it’s a huge deal to be named anything at Miss America, and the goal that I set for myself was just to make it into the top five; so this was just the icing on the cake,” Roberts said.
The former University of Southern Mississippi title holder wasted no time getting back to what she says matters most.
“It’s so incredibly important to give back to those that are having a hard time, whether that be at a children’s hospital, homeless shelter or anything else.”
Thursday Roberts was a special guest at the monthly birthday party for children at the Batson Children’s Hospital.
While Roberts serves as the state title holder, today she also served as a source of strength and inspiration to children.
“At my school, I got nominated to be my little mister at Northwest Rankin Elementary, and it was just an honor for me to take a picture with Miss Mississippi. When I grow up, I want to be Mr. Mississippi,” Batson patient Owen Spann said.
