Arkansas man sentenced to federal prison for possession of child pornography

HATTIESBURG, MS (WJTV) – One man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for possession of child pornography.

According to U.S. Attorney Gregory K. Davis and FBI Special Agent in Charge Donald Alway, 29-year-old Joshua Herron of Arkansas was sentenced on September 21, 2015.

An official release says “he was found to be in possession of child pornography while on supervised release from a previous child pornography conviction.”

Alway was convicted for possession of child pornography in February, 2010. He was serving as a member of the National Guard at Camp Shelby during that time. He got out of prison in August 2013 and placed on supervised release. That was revoked after he was found with child pornography for a second time.

In addition to 10 years in prison, he was also given a lifetime of supervised release.
