According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, a state trooper pulled over a 2015 Dodge Ram pick-up truck on I-20 westbound in Rankin County.
When authorities searched the vehicle, they found “eight pounds of black tar heroin with a street value of $350,000,” says a spokesman for MBI. Veteran law enforcement officers say it is the largest amount of black tar heroin they have ever seen in one seizure.
Black tar heroin is reportedly a rare concentrated form of the drug.
Around $2,500 in cash was also found and seized during the stop. We’re told authorities found the heroin inside an industrial hydraulic jack.
Mario Abarca Diaz, 20, of Atlanta, Georgia has been charged with possession of heroin.
He is currently being held in the Rankin County Detention Center.
