This morning the school got a big surprise from the Junior League. During the school’s assembly to honor students for perfect attendance they were surprised with a large check.
The school received a $10,000 grant from the Junior League. They were selected from a group of applicants vying for grant awards to be used for classrooms, teams, or school projects.
The woman who started the grant over 20 years ago says she is happy for the young students.
“It brings tears to my eyes about the impact we’ve been able to make on public education in Jackson,” says Gayle Adams with Junior Achievement.
The money will be used to provide the students with the materials needed for books and music instruments.
