Shots fired in Starkville leads to Maroon Alert on MSU campus

Starkville, Miss. (WJTV) – Officials with Mississippi State sent out a Maroon Alert Wednesday night after reports of shots fired in Starkville.MSU Maroon Alert

Starkville Police say a drive-by shooting at Camelot Apartments on North Montgomery Street led to a search for suspects near the campus.

Authorities say officers pursued a black sedan they believe was involved in the shooting. The car came to a stop at Haven 12 Apartments near the Mississippi State Research Park.

Starkville Police say some of the suspects got out of the car and left the scene. They’re currently searching for those suspects.

Police did take a black female into custody at the scene. They say she was driving that black sedan.

Starkville Police say no one has been hurt or injured.
