Gov. Bryant Issues Statewide Burn Ban

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Governor Phil Bryant is issuing a statewide burn ban.

The ban is due to the extremely dry conditions and the many wildfires that have taken place in multiple counties.

According to the Mississippi Forestry Commission, any person who knowingly and willfully violates a burning ban is guilty of a misdemeanor and may be fined not less than $100 and not more than $500.
