LAS VEGAS (WPRI/AP) — The Los Angeles Times is reporting Lamar Odom has been moved from a Las Vegas hospital and is now in California. Sources close to Odom said he has progressed to the point where he can continue his recovery in Los Angeles.

The former University of Rhode Island and NBA star’s family describes him as alert and his condition improving — less than a week than he was found unconscious at a Nevada brothel.

Workers there said they saw him drink alcohol and take herbal Viagra supplements.

Jim Harrick, who coached Odom in college at URI, also said his condition is improving.

“He took his breathing tube out himself, and if he needs a mask, he’ll wear it, but he’s breathing on his own.”

Harrick said he’s been in contact with Odom’s estranged wife Khloé Kardashian, almost every day.

“He spoke a few words. She reached down and said, ‘Hey. You know I love you,’ and he said, ‘Yeah. I know,’ and then went back to sleep.’”

The mother of Odom’s children, Liza Morales, posted a tweet about his condition when he regained consciousness.
