Red Shoe Golf Tournament raises money for Ronald McDonald house

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WJTV) — The annual Red Shoe Golf Tournament took place in Hattiesburg Tuesday.

The event was at the Canebrake Country Club.

Proceeds from the tournament will to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mississippi.

“We serve a lot of families from the Pine Belt area and so we’re in Hattiesburg for this tournament because Hattiesburg wanted to give back and support the families that come and stay with us when their children are in the hospital,”said Ruth Ann Allen, Director of the Ronald McDonald House.

“The golfers and the people who came today are tremendous,” she said. “They’ve taken time away from their offices. It’s something that they chose to do. They chose to support the families that stay at Ronald McDonald house.”
