JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Mayor Tony Yarber completed the Salvation Army’s “Pied for a Purpose” Challenge Friday.

The challenge was done outside of City Hall.

Yarber Pied in the FaceYarber accepted the challenge and allowed his wife to pie him in the face!

In order to complete the challenge, a person must take the Power of 12 Promise for the Salvation Army.

The promise is to tell at least 12 friends about it and donate $12 for 12 months. The donations go to the Salvation Army’s 12 focused programs.

“We’re just calling on Jacksonians and Mississippians to do what they always do and that’s given from the depths of their souls for folks who are less fortunate than they are,” Yarber said.

“What were trying to do is bring attention to our campaign Power of 12 promise,” said Captain Ken Chapman of the Salvation Army. “We’re asking 12,000 people in our area to make that promise at salvationarmy.org.”
