JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – Residents at Sunset Plaza Apartments say violence has worsened in the area.
“When I came out, I saw the crime scene tape, but I didn’t know what was going on.”
That was the reaction of many residents at the Sunset Plaza Apartments in Jackson after gunshots rang out early Monday morning.
“I’m glad that I didn’t get in the middle of it.”
Bradley Adams,25, and Nedra Johnson,32 were identified as the two people that were shot and killed at Sunset Plaza Apartments according to Officer Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department.
Adams was shot multiple times.
A woman, who did not want to be identified, says the area has gotten so bad she is afraid to be in parts of her own home.
“My bedroom was right here I want to move my bed right there in front of the window, but I am scared because you don’t know what’s going to happen. It’s getting bad….it has gotten bad.”
Police are currently looking for the shooter and people here are trying to cope with this recent act of violence.
“I can’t move, if I could, I would be gone.”
