Teacher shoved at JPS high school

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) —  Jackson Public Schools officials are responding to a video where a teacher was shoved at a JPS high school.

A WJTV viewer sent us the video, that shows a portion of an incident with a student and a teacher.

Sherwin Johnson of Jackson Public Schools said the incident is under investigation.

“It is not a reflection of the thousands of other well-behaved scholars who are excelling academically,” Johnson said. “Jackson Public Schools does not tolerate behavior that endangers the well-being of others and will take appropriate action. The District is implementing programs to address negative behavior and poor decisions by students.”
