TERRY, Miss. (WJTV) — A 20-year-old Terry man is indicted for allegedly aiming a laser pointer at an aircraft.
According to U.S. Attorney Greg Davis and Special Agent Don Alway of the FBI said Landon Albritton has been charged in the federal indictment.
The indictment says that on August 6, Albritton knowingly aimed the beam of a laser pointer at an aircraft or its flight path in the special aircraft jurisdiction of the U.S.
If convicted, he faces a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $250,000 fine.
Officials said reports of laser attacks have increased in recent years. They said lasers can completely incapacitate pilots who flying planes.
