National Weather Service confirms 12 tornadoes after Tuesday night storms

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The National Weather Service of Jackson confirmed that at least 12 tornadoes touched down on Tuesday night.

NWS officials surveyed dozens of areas throughout the state after the storms.

They confirmed tornadoes in Hinds and Lowndes counties.

Four tornadoes touched down in Leake County. Two more ripped through Winston County. Authorities said one tornado moved through Rankin County and then went to Scott County. They also said two other tornadoes hit Scott County.

Another twister hit at the four corners of the Leake, Attala, Winston, and Neshoba line.
