JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — The Mississippi Highway Patrol is getting ready to start their holiday enforcement period for Thanksgiving.
They plan on starting their extra patrols on Wednesday at 6 p.m. The Thanksgiving Holiday Enforcement Period will end on Sunday at midnight.
Last year, 179 crashes were investigated during the Thanksgiving enforcement period. Three of those crashes ended with fatalities.
Troopers will be conducting safety checkpoints throughout the state.
