Man breaks leg after attempted armed robbery

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department have arrested and charged a man in connection to Armed Robbery.

Jessie Cutley, 29, is charged with Attempted Armed Robbery of a Business.

Officers responded to Jasco Liquor and Wine in reference to an unarmed black male wearing all black, walking inside the store and asked how much money was is in the cash register on Saturday, December 12.

The clerk advised that he and the other clerks did not have much money.

The suspect then advised them that “this is a robbery” and grabbed a liquor bottle off to the counter and told him to give up money.

The clerk and two other cashiers attempted to grab the suspect, but he managed to escape and fled on foot north on Terry Road.

The suspect attempted to jump through a ditch, at which he broke his left leg while to fleeing from officers.

The suspect was later taken into custody and interviewed by Robbery and Homicide Detectives.
