USM student charged with sexual battery after alleged incident at frat house

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WJTV) — University of Southern Mississippi Police have arrested a student for sexual battery after they say an alleged incident happened at a fraternity house on campus.

20-year-old Edward Anthony Rahaim was taken into custody Friday. Rahaim is a junior.

USM Police Chief Bob Hopkins said the alleged incident happened at the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity house. He said fraternity members reported the incident to police.

Rahaim has been placed on interim suspension. They said he will remain suspended until the student conduct process is completed.
