CANTON, Miss. (WJTV) — Hearings for former Canton Public School District Superintendent Ike Haynes have been canceled.
WJTV has learned that the two parties have reached an agreement.
Haynes was fired back in November. The school district told us he was terminated because of a personnel matter.
The hearings were set to begin on Thursday, December 17. The district and Haynes would have had the opportunity to plead their cases at the hearings.
School Board attorney released this statement on Wednesday:
“The parties have worked out an agreement to resolve their differences. We wish Mr. Haynes the best in his future endeavors.” — John Christopher, Canton Public School Board Attorney
WJTV has reached out the Haynes’ attorney, Lisa Ross, about the agreement. Ross said all the issues have been resolved. A hearing date has been set for Dec. 30 to allow both parties to finalize the agreement, Ross said.
