Group protests at USA gas station

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) —  Protesters were out for a second day in a row Sunday.

The group, “Respect Our Black Dollars” is looking for a change at the USA Gas Station.

The uproar comes after the police said the store’s clerk Gurpreet Singhn shot a customer earlier this month. The owner of USA Gas said the shooting ws in self defense. However, Stanley Wesley, who is leading the “Respect Our Black Dollars” movement said otherwise.

He’s urging community members to stop shopping at the gas station until there is some kind of change.

“Anyone that does something that they’re not supposed to be doing in our community we’ll be there,” he said. “We’d like to see the practice changed and if the practice doesn’t change then sure, shut it down.”
