PANOLA COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) — Questions surrounding the death of a 19-year-old Panola County teen makes the cover of People Magazine.
“Who Killed Jessica?” is the question on the cover.
The magazine tweeted a photo of the cover Monday.
Jessica Chambers was killed in December 2014 after being burned alive in rural Panola County. Investigators are still looking for her killer.
The investigation into her death prompted the FBI to do a separate operation that led to the arrests of more than a dozen suspected gang members. The arrests were made last week. Authorities said the arrests were not directly linked to Chambers’ death, but that Jessica’s investigation led them to learn about other illegal activity in Panola County.
Her parents are still searching for answers. Jessica’s mom and dad, Lisa and Ben, spoke with WJTV about two weeks ago. They are still hurting from this tragic incident.
“She’ll never have kids. She’ll never get married. She’ll never know love,” said Lisa Chambers.
“Full of life, couldn’t have asked for a better more wonderful daughter,” said Ben Chambers.
Their daughter was found on Dec. 6, 2014, walking around on Herron Road in Panola County on fire. The teen was drenched in gasoline and burning alive. She died the very next day.
The FBI is issuing a reward to anyone who has information that could help lead them to an arrest and conviction in this case.
