Trial date set for former MSU students accused of trying to join ISIS

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Two former Mississippi State students accused of attempting to leave the country and join ISIS will go on trial June 6.

Jaelyn Young and Muhammed Dakhlalla were arrested in August according to our sister affiliate WCBI.

Authorities say they were trying to board a flight with plans to fly to Turkey and join ISIS.

The court has set a May 23 deadline for both to reach a plea deal.

They are both being held without bond.
