CLINTON, Miss- A Bolton family still struggling to come to grips with the loss of a child, gets a little Christmas kindness.
WJTV’s Andrew Nomura was in Clinton to capture the moment.
The spirit of Christmas can come in so many ways, and here at the Walmart in Clinton, that spirit was delivered by four Hinds County Constables to a Bolton family that lost a child in a fire.
“Once a year the constables get together and donate to a family that have burn out or been hurt in some form or fashion you all have had the lost of your home and lost of a family member,” said Constable Lawrence Funchess.
Last month, 1- year old Bradley Mason died when flames tore through his family’s home in Bolton.
Today, the constables gave a Christmas gift in a form some money to Bradley’s family. His, grandfather Elbert mason Jr, says acts of kindness like this helps ease the pain.
“It had to been the spirit of God to tell them to do it, because if it was the other way….the other way would have said no,” said Mason.
“It’s hard but I got to keep myself in trusting in the lord because God doesn’t make any mistakes. It hurts man. It hurts the family, but one thing I can say I know where he is at.”
And he also says he knows he doesn’t have to endure this pain on his own.
