LOUISE, Miss. (WJTV) – Voters in a tiny Delta town say they are not willing to open their doors to refugees from anywhere.
About 40 people casted a ballot concerning a nonbinding referendum stating that Louise, Mississippi would welcome refugees from around the world.
Also, the Louise Board of Alderman voted three to one to rescind what was known as the “Resolution in Support of the United States of America”.
It was passed back in November, and supported America’s policy of accepting refugees from war torn areas.
Louise Mayor Thomas Ruffin smith called yesterday’s decision, disappointing.
