JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Jackson city officials said engineers have designed the repairs that will be used to fix the water main break on Woodrow Wilson Drive.
Crews are switching eastbound traffic to the north lane of the street instead of the south lane. Drivers should use caution in the area.
City officials said the project requires a custom build. The break occurred on a 36-inch water line.
City officials said they are currently reviewing a contract for a contractor that can make the repairs. They said when a contract is approved, work will start and it could take two months to complete. At that time, traffic will be rerouted to State Street.
The water line was constructed in the 1960s.
