JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Four teenagers are behind bars after police said they are connected to an armed robbery where a store clerk was assaulted.
18-year-old Willie Evans, 19-year-old Devonta Jimmerson,19-year-old Keshone Mcallister, and 18-year-old Gino Banks are charged aggravated assault armed robbery of an individual, and armed robbery of a business.
Police said around 11:55 p.m. Thursday, the Stop N Shop on Beasley Road was robbed. Police said that three men came inside and one of them had a gun. The store clerk was inside. They took money from the store and robbed the clerk. Shots were also fired. The bullets didn’t hit the clerk, but he was assaulted.
The robbers left the scene on foot, according to police.
Police stopped a Nissan around 3:30 a.m. for an expired tag near Northside Drive and Meadow Hill Drive. Four people were inside and police said some of them matched the description of the men who robbed the store. Police were able to confirm through the store’s surveillance video that that the driver was involved in the robbery. Police also recovered a weapon.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and more charges could come.
