Man charged in October Dollar General armed robbery, carjacking

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) — Jackson Police have arrested a man that they said is connected to an October robbery and carjacking.

Officer Colendula Green said 21-year-old Marcus Lawson was arrested Tuesday.

On Oct. 15, 2015, the Dollar General on McDowell Road was held up. Police said three men came into the store armed with handguns. On the way out, the suspects went up to a customer in the parking lot, stole her black Chrysler 200, and left the scene. Police were able to later find the car.

Lawson was identified as a suspect in the crime. Police are still seeking the identities of the other two men.

On Tuesday, police received a tip that Lawson was at the Village Apartments on Raymond Road. He was arrested and charged with armed robbery of a business and armed carjacking.
