Man dies on Gallatin Street Wednesday afternoon

JACKSON, Miss. (WJTV) – The Jackson Police Department is investigating a death that happened on Gallatin Street near South Street Wednesday afternoon.
According to Officer Colendula Green with the Jackson Police Department, an unidentified man was seen gasping for air.

Officer Green also says there are no signs he was struck by a vehicle.

However, JPD Commander Tyree Jones with the  says the death is suspicious because there are no signs he was hit.

The unidentified male, 63, was found in a lane of traffic on Gallatin Street.

According to Hinds County Coroner Sharon Grisham-Stewart, an autopsy for the deceased male is scheduled for Thursday, February 4, 2016.

The death is believed to be of natural cases at this time.
